Founded in 2013 by Massimiliano Magrini and Paolo Gesess, United Ventures invests in people & technology. Its goal is to help founders of technology companies build products and services that have a positive impact on markets and society.
We got to know United Ventures by working on design and technology development projects for some of its portfolio companies: Exein and InSilicoTrials. In 2020, the fund’s Partners asked us to rethink the visual identity of their brand, with a view to better representing the values that guide their work alongside entrepreneurs.
The new logo
The new United Ventures logo gives greater prominence to the word ‘United’, which is considered to be strongly representative of the fund’s corporate culture, its DNA.
Colours
The blue colour that had accompanied the United Ventures brand for five years has disappeared from the logo. The new identity is defined by the use of black and white.
Starting with United Ventures’ original light blue, we have created a colour palette of intense colours for use in secondary contexts, such as within images, graphics, etc.
Typography
One of United Ventures’ wishes was for the new identity to play on the contrast between innovation and tradition, and the coexistence of both in the brand’s semantic universe. To achieve this, we chose to combine two different typographic families: Founders Grotesk and Canela.
Images
The new guidelines for the creation of images and other visual elements also reflect the desire to combine innovation and tradition. United Ventures’ new communication uses vintage illustrations enriched by graphics using the vibrant colours of the brand’s new colour palette.
Website
We designed the new United Ventures website and developed it as a custom theme for the WordPress CMS.
The main purpose of the new website is to present to potential stakeholders the philosophy of United Ventures and the companies in its portfolio.
