Bottega52 is a Milan-based software company that helps medium and large companies to design and build digital products capable of developing, sustaining and growing a business.
After collaborating with us on several projects commissioned by their clients, the Bottega52 team asked us for help to create their company’s new visual identity and website. They wished to communicate more effectively with potential corporate clients, without however renouncing their distinctively upbeat and unconventional spirit.
The new identity
To design the new visual identity of Bottega52, we decided to go back to the company’s origins. Since it was first set up in 2014, Bottega52 has seen itself as a promoter of a new digital humanism. The two digits in the company name are a tribute to Leonardo da Vinci, born in 1452.
The new logo of Bottega52 is a reinterpretation of the golden ratio, synonymous with perfection, harmony and beauty.
For the main images in the new communication of Bottega52 we proposed some illustrations created using ASCII art, a technique of artistic expression strongly associated with the use of IT tools.
We chose FK Grotesk as Bottega52’s new typeface. Florian Karsten Studio, author of FK Grotesk, described it as: “a rigid typeface with a mechanical appearance, suitable for both small text and large headlines. Subtle ink traps and sharp corners provide distinctive and eye-catching detail at large point sizes”.
The tone of voice
We involved Sunrise Tag, a Content Design Studio, to define Bottega52’s new tone of voice. We wrote with them the main texts of the new website and coined the claim “Engineered masterpiece” to convey the nature of Bottega52: a highly technical team capable of creating true works of art.
The website
The new Bottega52 website, developed in WordPress, is characterised by minimalist and monochromatic graphics and highly intuitive navigation, with the aim of acquiring leads.
In addition to the traditional pages focused on the company’s value proposition and services, there are two editorial sections: “Insights52” where users can read articles organised in different categories (Business, Technology, Development) and “Library” where they can download in-depth white papers for free – by simply providing their email address.
«The Moze team helped us from the start with development of our concept of communication, turning ideas into a specific and engaging message truly conveying the soul of the company.»
