Custom Websites & Ecommerce

We design and build custom websites and ecommerce for companies that treat digital as a strategic channel.

We take on the whole path: understanding the goals, content architecture, UX/UI, development, migration, launch and the support that follows. We come in when a website or an ecommerce needs to represent the brand better, sustain growth and offer an experience worthy of the product or the service behind it.

When a website no longer represents the company

A website can keep working technically and, at the same time, stop representing the company behind it. The brand has grown, the offering has changed, the content has piled up in layers, or the experience no longer communicates the quality the business has reached.

That is often the moment we are brought in: to rethink the digital presence and build an experience that is clearer, more recognisable and able to support new goals in communication, growth or sales.

Websites and ecommerce as digital products

We treat every project as a digital product. Before designing pages we understand goals, audience, content, processes and technical constraints. Through co-design workshops and prototypes we put decisions into a concrete form quickly, so that they can be discussed and checked together.

The result does not come from a template to be adapted, but from a sequence of choices that connects brand, user experience, content and technology.

Design and development in the same team

Designers and developers work together from the earliest stages. The interface is designed knowing how it will be built, and development stays faithful to the decisions taken during design.

For us, custom means designing UX/UI and front-end specifically for the project. We do not start from off-the-shelf themes, and we try to introduce only the technical complexity that is genuinely needed, limiting the dependencies and components that would make the system harder to maintain.

The right technology for the project

We do not propose a technology up front. We weigh content, experience, integrations, technical requirements and the skills of the team that will run the site, then choose a foundation that suits the project.

WordPress websites

We use WordPress mainly for corporate and editorial websites with rich, structured content, or where the client's team already knows the platform well. We build custom themes and editorial tools shaped around the real content, keeping the number of plugins to the essentials.

Next.js websites

We choose Next.js when the front-end experience calls for more freedom, or when the site has specific technical or cybersecurity requirements. How content is managed is decided per project: where a headless CMS is needed we can use Sanity; in other cases content can come from Markdown files, APIs or other sources.

Shopify ecommerce

For ecommerce projects we use Shopify as our platform of reference. We design the buying experience and develop a custom theme, integrating third-party apps and services only where they add a function that is needed and can be maintained reliably over time.

Simple to run after launch

A project also succeeds when the client's team can run it on their own. We design the CMS, the editorial blocks and the management flows with the people who will publish content and update pages, products or campaigns after go-live in mind.

We try to cut unnecessary dependencies and complexity, so the system stays understandable and maintainable. Where it helps, we carry on supporting the client with hosting, maintenance and further development.

Migrations and integrations

We can take on the migration of content and data from existing platforms, defining what to move, how to transform it and how to keep URLs and structure correct through the switch to the new system.

Integrating a website with other systems is often part of the project: catalogues, external databases, CRMs, marketing systems, payment services or proprietary APIs. The goal is to keep the technical complexity away from the user and to build a coherent experience on top of systems that may have very different responsibilities.

Technical quality as part of the project

Performance, technical SEO and accessibility are not considered at the end of development. They enter the decisions about architecture, design and implementation from the start.

We pay attention to the semantic structure of the pages, to performance and Core Web Vitals, to handling migrations correctly and, where the project calls for it, to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements. The SEO work concerns the technical and structural quality of the site; ongoing SEO strategy and organic acquisition normally stay with dedicated specialists.

How we work

We start from understanding the problem and the goals of the project. We organise the work through co-design, prototypes and short review cycles, so that the important decisions are taken before they turn into development that is hard to change.

Design and development move in step until launch. We prepare the go-live, run the final checks and can keep following the project with maintenance and support afterwards.

The benefits for the brand, the team and the business

  • A stronger digital presence. The website goes back to representing what the company has become and the value of what it offers, with an experience consistent with the brand's positioning.
  • Less complexity to manage. Technology, content and integrations are organised into a system the internal team can understand and use without depending on Moze for every change.
  • An ecommerce built to sell. For ecommerce, design, content and technology converge on the buying experience, leaving the foundations of the platform to Shopify.

Who this is for

We work with technology and software companies, with businesses in other sectors for which digital is a strategic channel, and with brands that sell online. The sector changes; what they have in common is the weight they put on the quality of the experience and on technical reliability.

This model suits companies looking for an external partner able to take responsibility for the project from analysis to launch, working where needed alongside internal teams, communication partners, infrastructure providers or other specialists.

Frequently asked questions

Do you build sites from themes or templates?

No. We design UX/UI and front-end specifically for the project. On WordPress we build custom themes; on Shopify we develop custom themes on the platform and integrate selected apps where they are needed.

How do you choose between WordPress, Next.js and Shopify?

It depends on the kind of project. WordPress suits corporate and editorial websites particularly well; Next.js suits more bespoke front-end experiences or specific technical requirements; Shopify suits ecommerce projects. Within a Next.js project we then choose the most suitable way to manage content — a headless CMS such as Sanity, for instance, where editorial autonomy matters.

Can you migrate content and data from our existing site?

Yes. We can handle migrations of content, catalogues and data, including the transformations the new model requires and the continuity of URLs where that matters.

Do you also do SEO?

We design and build websites with technical SEO in mind: semantic structure, performance, indexability and correct handling of migrations. We do not normally carry out ongoing SEO strategy, content marketing or organic acquisition.

Do you handle maintenance and support after launch?

Yes. We can keep looking after hosting, updates, technical maintenance and later development through a dedicated agreement.

Can you work alongside other partners?

Yes. We can work together with branding, communication, SEO or infrastructure partners and other specialists, defining responsibilities and points of integration during the project.
